STRIKE IN CHICAGO.

PROTEST AGAINST LOW PRICES.

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.55 p.m.) Chicago, January 7. A strike of 18,000 milk producers in the Chicago area, members of the socalled Pure Milk Association, has threatened an acute milk shortage here. Local distributors halted retail deliveries, but association members themselves are supplying the hospitals.

Pickets lined the highways, but most of the independent producers accepted the situation and made no attempt to bring milk into the city. The few that tried had their supplies dumped. The producers are striking against the low prices. _______
