SCHOOL BREAK-UP.

(From Our Correspondent.)

The break-up of the Drummond School took the form of a parents’ day. The chairman of the School Committee (Mr J. Kincaid), in welcoming the large and representative gathering of parents and friends, referred, to the purpose served by such functions. A programme of songs, recitations and short plays met with the approval of the audience. A science demonstration of soil analysis and the. composition of the air proved an interesting item, while a drill display, made possible by the courtesy of Messrs Chas. Begg and Co., was much appreciated. A fine display of pencil and crayon drawing elicited much favourable comment. The prizes were presented by the chairman, each pupil receiving one book only. The list was as follows: Form 11, D. Cowan (dux of school leadership), J. Sutton 2 (general excellence and school leadership), A. Wilson (school leadership and art), J. Robertson (composition and interest in school activities), M. Hallum (drill and art), D. Jesperson (interest in school activities). Form 1, L. Galt 1 (general excellence, composition and reading), D. Cowan (writing and interest in school activites) 2. Standard 4, J. Linklater 1 (general excellence and composition), I. Lindsay 2 (general excellence and arithmetic), R. Chilton (history and art), I. Kincaid and M. Lindsay (diligence and interest in school activities). Standard 3, G. Turner (general excellence and arithmetic) 1, P. Kincaid (spelling and reading). Standard 2, S.
