WAGES DISPUTE

DAIRY FACTORY DRIVERS. BUTTER DECLARED “BLACK.” (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, December 20. Owing to a dispute over wages of dairy factory drivers, various unions in Canterbury have keen recommended to declare all butter made in the province “black” with the exception of the output of one factory. The Canterbury Drivers’ Union has already done so and is urging the Alliance of Labour to take action. The proposal is to refrain from buying banned butter until the wages dispute is settled.
