FELLMONGERS’ STRIKE

DISPUTE MAY BE PROTRACTED. EXPORT TRADE DISLOCATED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, September 27. The indications now are that the fellmongers’ strike will be protracted. In view of the fact that the strike has dislocated the export trade and that the men have rejected proposals for a settlement, there is speculation whether the Federal Government will invoke the Crimes Act. The employers have informed the wool-selling brokers that they will not attend the sheepskin sales as buyers and a postponement of the sales is now being considered. TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WORKS. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.10 p.m.) Sydney, September 27. The fellmongery employers decided to close the works for a fortnight and the buying section for a week.
