FIREPROOF PLANE

BELGIAN AIRMAN’S INVENTION. DEMONSTRATION IN ENGLAND. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, September 26. Major van Rolleghem, the wellknown and highly decorated Belgian aviator, is coming to England to demonstrate his fireproof aeroplane. He states: “I can get into the model cockpit, close myself in, light the petrol supply until a heat of 1200 degrees is generated, and sit in this furnace unroasted for twenty to thirty minutes until the fire is out. When I open it the cockpit will be undamaged and I am not even warm.” Experts who have seen' successful demonstrations at Brussels believe that Major Rolleghem’s invention may remove all danger of fire in the air.
