CITIZENS’ CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Gore Citizens’ Tennis Club was held last evening, Mr J. A. S. Aitken presiding over a fair attendance. In moving the adoption of the annual report (previously published) the chairman said that the membership of the past year had not been high as previously, due no doubt to the fact that several new clubs had sprung up in the town. The club had, however, enjoyed a very successful year. For the incoming season the expenditure should be a great deal smaller as the courts, nets and pavilion were in excellent order.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: President, Mr J. A. S. Aitken; vicepresidents, Messrs R. Domigan, W. Stevenson, R. W. McCreath and H. MacGibbon; secretary and treasurer, Mr D. S. McLeod; lady secretary, Miss K. Jopp; assistant secretary, Miss M. Anderson; club-captain, Mr A. Maude; deputy captain, Mr D. M. McLeod; committee, Messrs J. Peterson, A. Anderson, H. Gardiner and P. Craig; delegates to sub-association, Messrs A. Maude and D. M. McLeod; selectors and handicappers, Messrs A. Maude and D. S. McLeod.
Opening day was fixed for October 4. The following new members were elected: Mrs J. Bishop, Misses D. Hamilton, Chisholm, Wesney, Messrs O. Anderson, G. Johnstone, P, Scott and F. Whyte.
