According to a member of the crew of the Union Company’s steamer Narbada, which recently visited Lyttelton to discharge Calcutta cargo, British, Dutch, and American motor cars are rapidly being ousted from Java by a Japanese motor car that sells very cheaply and is reported to be very economical to run (says the Christchurch Times).
