WAIANIWA NEWS
(From Our Correspondent.) The basketball girls held their fortnightly dance in the hall on Saturday evening to music supplied by Mrs Toole (piano) and Mr A. McDonald (accordeon). Mr I. S. Robertson carried out the duties of M.C. Amongst Those present were: Mr and Mrs J. 'Young, Mr and Mrs Larson (Invercargill), Mesdames Cartwright, King, Townshend; Misses King (2), Whitelaw (2), Ronald (2), Cartwright (2), Bissett, Bruland, Stevenson, Robertson, Young, Forrest, Rizzi, Townshend (Wallacetown), Counsell (Otahuti), Aitkinson (Lorneville); Messrs King (2), Grieve (3), Robertson, Wilson, Jackson, Kennedy, Roscow, McPhedran, Toole, Middlemiss, Bruland, Rizzi, Lindsay (2), Price, Ronald, McNeill (2) (Thombury), Finn, Munro, Jackson (Wallacetown), Donald, Counsell (Otahuti), McCrostie (Spar Bush). Mr B. C. Galloway has commenced his duties as home missionary in the Waianiwa-Waimutuku parish. A number of local residents journeyed to Ryal Bush last Thursday evening to welcome home Mr and Mrs J. Kennedy, who have taken up residence in that district. Mr and Mrs C. D. C. Mason and family have returned home after their school vacation. Miss C. M. A. Aitkinson was the guest of Mrs W. King over the weekend. Miss Powell has returned after spending the holidays at her home in Tapanui. Mr and Mrs W. Townshend have returned after spending a holiday in Christchurch.
