TEST RECITAL
TIME LIMIT EXCEEDED. TIMARU COMPETITOR FIRST. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, August 30. A protest was lodged against the winner of the New Zealand test recital, Mr Robert Cheyne, of Eastbn on the ground th ’ he had exceeded the time limit of six minutes allowed for reciting own selection pieces this morning. Mr Cheyne gave a private recital of the piece before the protest committee of the Competitions Society. He exceeded the limit so the nrotest was upheld and Mr W. S. Minehan, of Timaru, who was placed second, gains first place.
