ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
TRAGIC DEATH. (Per United Press Association.) Oamaru, August 28. Ross Crawshaw, aged 21, a son of Mr Frank Crawshaw, an ex-Mayor of Oamaru, met his death under tragic circumstances yesterday. In company with E. Swinard and L. Faid, Crawshaw was engaged in shooting shags six miles beyond Dr Gow’s property at Tapui. He was found dead below a cliff 200 feet high, with severe injuries to the head. A large boulder alongside the body had apparently been loosened by recent rains and fell from the top of the cliff on to the unfortunate young man. Deceased was a prominent Oamaru swimmer.
