GORE RIFLE CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Gore Defence Rifle Club was held last evening, Mr S. Preece presiding over an attendance of ten members. The annual report (already published) and the balance-sheet, showing a cash balance of £23 5/9, were adopted. Office-bearers were elected as follows: President, Mr C. M. Wilson; vicepresidents, Messrs S. Preece, C. France, C. Wilkinson and G. Bain; committee, Messrs P. Hay, G. Young, A. Burrows, W. Cunningham and A. Hay; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Milne; auditor, Mr C. Wilkinson; range warden, Mr W. Cunningham; ammunition and marker’s steward, Mr G. Bain; official reporter, Mr C. M. Wilson; handicappers, Messrs S. Preece and C. M. Wilson; delegates to the Southland Rifle Association, the president and Mr S. Preece.
Sub-committees were appointed for the prize-giving ceremony and the annual ball to be held in September. The annual subscription was reduced to 10/-.
