WOMEN’S DIVISION

KAUANA BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Kauana W.D.F.U. was held on Wednesday when there was a good attendance, Mrs J. G. Macalister presiding. The secretary was instructed to forward a letter to Mrs Ward congratulating her on her appointment as Dominion president. It was decided to celebrate the branch’s first birthday by holding a social afternoon on August 16. There were twelve entries in the biscuit competition, the winners being Mesdames Macalister, Rizzi, Anderson, jun., and Miss Anderson. The roll call, the recipe of the biscuits was then taken and proved of much interest. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses, Mesdames Gordon and Rizzi, and a happy meeting was brought to a close.
