BASKETBALL

FRIENDLY MATCHES AT GORE. Friendly basketball matches between St. Patrick’s (Gore) and St. Mary’s (Invercargill) were played at Gore during the week-end, St. Mary’s winning the senior match and St. Patrick’s the junior game. There was a good crowd of spectators present. The St. Mary’s senior team was two short and filled these gaps from its second team. The senior match provided a very spectacular display, St. Mary’s winning as a result of more accurate shooting by seven goals to four. The junior match was also bright and interesting, St. Patrick’s winning B—3.
