STATION IZR

BROADCASTING TO BE RESUMED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 15. Station IZR will be on the air again. A fresh license for the transmission and broadcasting of programmes has been issued by the Postmaster-General. The Minister stated that since the station's license was cancelled, negotiations had taken place between him and the proprietors, Lewis Eady, Ltd. In reply to an inquiry from the proprietors as to the conditions under which broadcasting could be resumed, the Minister had stated that a fresh license would be issued on receipt of an assurance that the conditions relative to sponsored programmes would be strictly complied with in future. “Such assurance,” said Mr Hamiltoh, “was received by me this morning, and I have now given permission to enable the station to resume broadcasting.”
