WATER DIVINING

GEOLOGIST’S CONDEMNATION. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 15. A condemnation of any method of locating water by that commonly known as water divining was made at a meeting of the Geological section of the Wellington Philosophical Society last evening. Speakers emphasized that water underground could not be accurately located by any method other than by the study and investigation of the geological nature of the strata where water was thought to be. Dr P. Marshall, the well-known geologist, said 30 years ago he had exposed the failure of water divining and he blamed the lack of publicity for the present-day ignorance of the general public on the subject.
