COMPENSATION GRANTED

N.S.W. GOVERNMENT TO PAY £14,325. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.0 p.m.) Sydney, June 14. Damages totalling £14,325 were awarded against the New South Wales Government on account of claims by Edward McGrath, the former Deputy Industrial Commissioner, and five exchairmen of conciliation committees for compensation following their dismissal from office. On Monday Mr Justice Davidson awarded £7OOO compensation to Augustus Scott, a former chairman of the Metropolitan Meat Industry Board, as a result of the termination of his services by the present New South Wales Government. Mr Scott was a Lang Government appointee. Similar actions were launched against the Government in respect to the dismissal of other persons who held important posts under the Lang Administration.
