BANKING REFORM
LEGISLATION IN AMERICA. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) Washington, June 13. Congress adopted the Glass-Steagall Banking Bill providing for fundamental changes in the national banking system, including the insurance of deposits by all banks. Mr Steagall said there would not be any more banking failures. The measure would divorce banks from their security affiliates and sanctions, a branch of banking within the states whose local laws permitted it.
