ASCOT SENSATIONS

DONOGHUE HEAVILY THROWN.

FAMOUS TRAINER KILLED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.25 a.m.) London, June 14. Ascot opened sensationally. Steve Donoghue was thrown heavily when Tavern dashed into the barrier at the start of the Prince of Wales Stakes. The stewards suspended Michael Beary for the remainder of the meeting. Beary, who was also thrown, denies that he caused the accident by trying to beat the start. A famous trainer, F. Leader, who trained Gainslaw, winner of the Ascot Gold Vase yesterday, _ was motoring home to Newmarket with his wife at midnight when they crashed into a lorry and both were killed.
