GERMAN LABOUR

SURRENDER TO HITLER CHANGES IN SOCIAL HYGIENE RACIAL IMPROVEMENT (United Press Assn.— Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, May 4 The entire organized manual ana office labour of Germany has capitulated, awed by the Nazis seizure of trade unions with 3,500,000 members. All others unreservedly submitted to Herr Hitler’s leadership. Matrimonial offices are closed pending the adoption of new. principles of social hygiene and the installation ot doctors qualified to inculcate it. Ine organization of this scheme has already begun at Dortmund with 80,000 school children. Thereafter civil service candidates and undergraduates, and eventually the entire population, will be included. , , , Laws will shortly be promulgated directed at racial improvement by prohibiting inter-racial marriages and prescribing separation of the populace into families whose offspring are desirable or undesirable. The logical consequence is sterilization of criminals and defectives. The objective will be unattainable for generations, but it is considered that the Government conscious of its responsibilities, must think in generations. With the idea of moulding better citizenship, for which compulsory labour camps are a vital qualification, 350,000 German youths born after January .1, 1913, will attend the first camp for six months service. The controller, Colonel Hierl, foreshadows military conscription thereafter. The completion of both services will be a necessary qualification for permission to marry. The camps wall be engaged in improving agncultuial lands, restoring barren areas and making roads, but all manufacturing ventures are taboo. NIPPED IN BUD AUSTRIAN NAZIS’ PLAN. (United Press Assn.— Telegraph Copyright.) Vienna, May 4. The Government nipped in the bud a plot by Austrian Nazis to force an Austro-German union. The “putsch was to commence at Kustein, near the German border, whence it would march to Innsbruck and proclaim a Nazi Government; and later descend on Vienna and overthrow the Cabinet. . Troops who were rushed to the frontier frustrated the scheme. NAZIS RIDICULE REPORT. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Berlin, May 5. Nazi headquarters ridicule the story of the “putsch” in Austria, and deny any intention to interfere in Austria s affairs. HITLER’S LIEUTENANT VISIT TO LONDON. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, May 5. With the object of enlightening leading English statesmen and others regarding the situation in Germany, Herr Hitler’s lieutenant, Alfred Rosenberg, head of the new Foreign Political Department, is coming to London.
