IRRESISTIBLE OFFER
WALLS-LYNN TALKIES. CONTRACT IN ENGLAND. London, December 14. Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn, two well-known British screen stars, will figure in a financial comedy, as a result of which they will receive nearly £200,000 through a contract to make four films a year for three years for the Gaumont-British Company. Walls, who directs his own films, will receive £lO,OOO per film, and Lynn £6OOO. The deal includes the Aldwych Theatre’s comedy team. Walls and Lynn, whose talkies are at present earning them £lOO,OOO a
year each in Britain alone, are also under an arrangment to make two films a year for Herbert Wilcox, who in August severed his connection with the Gaumont-British Co., and entered into an arrangement with American United Aritists, hoping to secure screenings in America.
The Gaumont-British Co. is not desirous of losing the Walls-Lynn attractions, and recently made them an irresistible offer.
