TASMAN FLIGHT

THE SOUTHERN CROSS ITINERARY ANNOUNCED VISIT TO INVERCARGILL (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, December 20. According to Mr Wilfred Kingsford Smith, who arrived from Sydney today to make arrangements for the visit of his brother in the Southern Cross, one of the mystery passengers for the Tasman flight is Mr S. E. Neilson, secretary of the New Zealand Aero Clubs and Western Federated Aero Club. Mr Neilson leaves Auckland for Australia by the Monowai on December 29. Mr Smith states the Southern Cross will definitely visit New Plymouth, Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Hastings, Wanganui, Palmerston, Levin, Masterton, Blenheim, Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin and Invercargill. A number of other, places will be visited if landing places suitable for a plane of the size of the Southern Cross are available, but no definite decision will be made. The towns in this category include Whangarei, Dannevirke, Gisborne, Hawera, Hokitika, Alexandra and Gore. Sir Charles expects to be here till the end of February and it has been practically decided that he will then fly back to Australia. Ninety Mile Beach has been provisionally chosen as the take off place.
