WAIMATUKU NOTES

(From Our Correspondent.) The Waimatuku School committee held a meeting on Tuesday, December 6, Mr W. Strang presiding. The headmaster reported that the school roll stood at 67, and the attendance for the month was 64. Repairs to the house fence had been completed and he wished to express his thanks to the committee. The headmaster submitted an estimate of the probable cost of school prizes and gift books and after some discussion he was authorized to buy prizes as usual. The school break-up is to take the form of an afternoon function at the school, and the Rev. Mr Hodson is to be requested to present the prizes. On Wednesday a tennis match was played between the Riverton B grade second team and the Waimatuku team, the Riverton team being the winners by 9 sets to 7.
