FREEZING DISPUTE

COMPANIES APPROACH MINISTER. NEGOTIATIONS TRAVERSED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 25. A deputation from the freezing companies interviewed the Minister of Labour (the Hon. Adam Hamilton) privately. The Minister said that the deputation reported to him the extent of the negotiations which had taken place between the companies and the men. The companies stated that they were willing to meet the men again, but so far they had no request for. a further meeting. Endeavours are being made at Auckland to bring about a meeting there, but this has not yet come about. No request was made for Government intervention in the dispute and it is not intended that the Government should intervene.
