Mr and Mrs E. Matheson, and Mr and Mrs A. Matheson left on Saturday by motor to visit friends at Oamaru. Her many friends will be pleased to learn that Miss Scatter, who returned from Timaru on Saturday, is greatly improved in health. Misses Harrison and Clode, Colac Bay, are spending a few days with Mr and Mrs E. Harrington. . Mr and Mrs M. O’Brien visited Dunein during the week. Mrs Bradshaw, Invercargill, was the guest of Mr and Mrs W. J. Officer last week. , x , Amongst those who were present at the official closing of the golf links on Saturday were: Mr and Mrs A. I. Milne, Mr and Mrs F. L. Smith, Mr and Mrs Renowden, Mesdames Barwell and Ireland, Misses D. Harrington, T. Scatter, Clode, Burns, O’Brien and Harrison, Messrs Pritchett, D. Stevens, Fisher, A. Harrington, Kirk, G. Sinclair, jun. Miss Patricia Burke is the guest ot the Misses O’Brien. . Miss Marjory Lumsden, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs G. McMillan. Mrs W. Lindsay,. Wallacetown, was the guest of Mr and Mrs H. S. Gould, Main street, during the week. Mrs King, Whangarei, who has been spending an extended holiday in the south, and is renewing old acquaintances in the township, is the guest of Mr and Mrs M. O’Brien and Mr and Mrs R. Seatter and expects to return home about the end of the month. Miss M. Macdonald, Invercargill, spent the week-end with Mr and Mrs W. Porteous. Mr and Mrs Hardiman, Invercargill, were the guests of Mr and Mrs Ledingham for the week-end.
