BLOWN FROM TRAIN
CHILD’S AMAZING ESCAPE.
FATHER’S RISKY EXCURSION. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Madrid, September 24. As a train was crossing a high ravine Miguel Jalon held his little daughter to a window to behold the scenery when the wind blew the child from his grasp. The distracted father found the communication cord would not operate, so he climbed along the roofs of the carriages to warn the engine crew. The train pulled up a few yards short of a tunnel where Jalon would have been crushed to death. Rescuers found the child, who had fallen 50 feet down the ravine and was caught in a clump of bushes. She vzas not injured.
