\ BUILDING SET ON FIRE.

» THREE MEN CHARGED.

Dunedin, July 29. At the Police Court to-day before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., William Alexander McKenzie, Thomas Mills Stewart and Stewart Walter Muir were charged with, on July 4, wilfully setting fire to a shop and dwelling owned by McKenzie. Detective Power stated that he had found some partly burned cotton wool amongst the cinders in the shop. The accused, in statements admitted the offence, the object being to obtain insurance money.

The accused pleaded guilty and were committed for sentence.
