THREE KILLED IN JAPAN. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) Tokio, June 22. The first, serious accident, in the history of the Japanese Aerial Transport. Company occurred when a passenger plane crashed near Osaka, three persons being killed. AMERICAN AVIATRIX INJURED. Nev/ York, June 22. Miss Ruth Nichols took off from St. John (New Brunswick) on a solo flight across the Atlantic. A message from St. John’states that Miss Nichols damaged her plane in landing this afternoon. The aviatrix was taken to the general hospital, but it is reported that her injuries are not serious. SEVERE BACK INJURY. (Rec. 7.45 p.m.) St John (New Brunswick) June 23. Miss Nichols was severely injured in the back and knee. Her plane is practically destroyed. FLIGHT ROUND THE WORLD. (Rec. 11.10 p.m.) New York, June 23. From Roosevelt Field, Wiley Post and Harold Gatty took off for Harbour Grace (Newfoundland) in the monoplane Winnie May on Tuesday morning, this being the first leg on a flight round the world. They expect to start for London after two hours’ rest at Harbour Grace.
