TEST DRAWN

SOUTH AFRICA WIN RUBBER. BRIGHT INNINGS BY TATE. (United Press Assn.—By Telegrsph—Copyright.) Durban, February 25. Heavy rain overnight did not affect the wicket for the resumption of play in the fifth Test match between England and South Africa, but the English bowling was again steady and kept the scoring clown.

Voce bowled a short ball bumping over the batsmen’s heads. One ball caught Seidle under the heart and he collapsed temporarily. Christy played a bright innings, but McMillan was the liveliest, his six into the stand off Hammond being a Herculean effort. Cameron displayed the best variety of strokes. The English fielding was good. Cameron's declaration left England an hour to bat. Tate batted in his usual cavalier fashion. He hit three sixes off Mitchell’s first over, one right over the pavilion. There was delay while the ball was recovered. The match was drawn. South Africa thus won the rubber. Scores:

Commenting on the South African team to tour Australia, Arthur Mailey describes it as well balanced. The captain, Cameron, is enterprising and always prepared to take a risk, but the bowling is problematic. He expresses surprise at the dropping of Nupen. The South Africans, having defeated the Marylebone team, the matches in Australia will really be for the world’s cricket supremacy.
