SECOND ROUND. NORTH ISLAND TOURNEY. RAIN STOPS PLAY. (Per United Press Association.) New Plymouth, January 7. Only one championship match in the North Island championship tennis tournament was played to-day, rain having seriously interfered with the play. In the second round of the men’s doubles, Rhodes Williams (Christchurch) and L. France (Wellington) defeated C. P. Todd (Wellington) and R. G. McKenzie (Pahiatua) 6—2, 7 —5.
