GORE FIRE BRIGADE

BETTER FACILITIES WANTED. The following resolution was passed and seconded at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Gore Fire Brigade: “That thqjirigade report to the Borough Council concerning the recent fire in Crewe street and the adverse comments on the. efforts of the brigade to deal with the outbreak; that on the higher levels where the pressures are low the present appliances are inadequate to deal with fires. The brigade suggests that in order to provide a pump that the council of the Underwriters Association be approached and asked if it is prepared to contribute towards the cost of same, and, failing a satisfactory reply that the borough take into consideration the necessity of setting up a fire board, when the underwriters would of necessity share the cost.” The motion was carried unanimously, and a copy of the resolution is to be sent to the Gore; Borough Council.
