WORKMEN RECEIVE BURNS.

(Per United Press Association.) t Dunedin, December 9. At 11.15 this morning two chainmen, working on a survey party sent to the Whare Flat district'from the City Engineer’s department, came in contact through a steel band which was being used by them at the. time with an electric cable. , They are Robert Duncan and Herbert Watson and are suffering from shock and burns, Both are married men and reside in Dunedin. It seems that the members of the party were, working at a point near the Whare Flat road and the chainmen were pulling the band across a gully. Owing to the surface formation of the country the band flew up and touched a. cable. As a direct result of the accident there was a stoppage of lhe electric power in, one section of the city.
