ACTED FOR FUN

“WEALTHY IMPORTER’* POSER UNMASKED AT HOLLYWOOD EXTENSIVE ROBBERIES (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright) (Rec. 11.10 p.m.) New York, December 10. Al White became known at Hollywood last year as a wealthy importer who acted for the fun of it. To-day he is under arrest as Roxen Sanders, the master mind in a daylight robbery partnership. The police recovered £50,000,000 worth of jewels, Oriental rugs and furniture which were boldly taken from the homes of wealthy Hollywood people. A chamois leather bag containing £5OOO worth of loose diamonds was found strapped to Sander’s knee. The police assert that he took £200,000 worth of goods and resold them to the cinema colony.

The robberies were conducted in broad daylight by a gang who drove to selected houses in the garb of draymen.
