WELCOME AT NELSON. BAD WEATHER CONDITIONS. (Per United Press Association.) Nelson, December 9. Mr Oscar Garden and Captain F. V. Haigh arrived at 11.34 a.m. Captain Noel Chandler returned to Blenheim owing to the fog and clouds. The other aviators were compelled by the conditions to follow the coastline, which caused a protracted trip. A civic welcome was given followed by lunch. The airmen leave for Wellington at 2.30 p.m. ARRIVAL Al’ WELLINGTON TOUR CONTINUED TO-DAY. Wellington, December 9. The bumpy trip across Cook Strait was the experience of Mr Oscar Garaen <ind Captain Haigh this afternoon. Leaving Nelson at 2.35 p.m. the airmen arrived at Rongotai at 4.10 p.m. Mr Garden was flying in the Kia Ora and Captain Haigh in the Vacuum Company’s Moth.

Having completed the South Island itinerary they will leave for Fcilding at about 9.15 to-morrow morning. From there they will go to Palmerston North and ; arrive at Wanganui during the afternoon. On Thursday they will continue their tour, going to Hawcra, reaching New Plymouth on Friday and Hying to Auckland and Whangarei on Saturday. CONTINUATION OF TOUR. ARRIVAL AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Palmerston North, December 10. Mr Oscar Garden, the New Zealand airman, . arrivel at Palmerston North shortly after 11 a.m. in the plane Kia Ora, accompaniment by Captain F. V. Haig in another plane. He was met by three Western Federation planes as an escort. After circling the city he departed for I 1 eilding. Mr Garden returned by car and received a civic reception. He was entertained, at lunch by the Milson Aerodrome Society and the Manawatu Aero Club. Later Mr Garden returned to Feilding. From thence he will fly to Wanganui.
