PARLIAMENT
YESTERDAY’S SESSION. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, September 25. ■After the telegraph office had closed this morning the following estimates were passed by the Committee of Supply of the House of Representatives: Department o£ Industries and Commerce, Tourist and Publiciti', £126,500, and Audit Department £28,200. The House rose at 2.7 aun. and met again at 2.30 p.m. The London and New Zealand Bank Limited Amendment Bill (Mr A. M. Samuel R., Ohinemuri) was read a third time and passed. The Hon. J. G. Coates was granted one day’s leave of absence on account of urgent public business and Mr J. Bitchener Waitaki) was granted four days’ leave of absence on account of death in the family. The National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum Bill was reported from the Landis Committee with amendments. The House adjourned at 5.30 p.m. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL The Legislative Council met at 2.30 pun. to-day. The Nurses and Midwives Registration Amendment Bill was read a second time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. Amendments to the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill in respect of taxation of insurance companies were agreed to. The Council adjourned at 10-20 P-tn. until 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
