DAY AHEAD OF HINKLER’S TIME. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby. September 24. Continuing his solo flight from England to Australia, Captain Matthews reached Calcutta at noon to-day from Allahabad, and hopes to proceed to Bankok to-mor-row via Akyab. He has reached Calcutta on the eighth day of his flight, thus equalling Miss Amy Johnson’s time, and is a day ahead of Hinkler's.
