LORRY DRIVER KILLED

LEVEL CROSSING ACCIDENT. (Per United Press Association.) New Plymouth, September 23. A passenger train crashed into a Post and Telegraph Department motor lorry at a level crossing at Stratford this evening. The driver of the lorry, William Wells, was terribly injured about the head and body and died immediately on admission to hospital. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. The lorry was thrown against a power pole with terrific force and wrecked. Wells leaves a wife and six children.
