GORE PLUNKET SOCIETY

MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the Gore Plunket Society held on Monday afternoon Nurses Wilson and Burnett reported as follows for the month of July: Colds and influenza have been prevalent during the past month. One baby from Wyndham was taken to the Karitane Hunt Hospital for treatment. The statistics are as follows:— Gore: Number of visits to homes, 100; visitors to rooms, adults 108, babies 10-1, older children 12; new cases, 12. Wyndham (two visits paid): Visits to home, 3; one visit was paid to Redan, about eight miles distant; visitors to rooms, adult 29, babies 29, older children 2; new cases, 3. Waikaia (two visits paid) : Visitors to rooms, adults 13, babies 13, older children 2; new cases, 1. Mat aura (four visits paid) : Visits to homes, 33; visitors to rooms, adults 32, babies 31, older children 2; new cases, 3. Edendale (two visits paid) : Visits to homes, 4; visitors to rooms, adults 20, babies 17, older children 1. Riversdale (one visit paid) : Visits to homes, 4; visitors to rooms, adults 7, babies 7, older children 2; new cases, 1. The report for the month of August stated: During the month one baby from Mataura was taken to Karitane and is progressing slowly but favourably. One mother and baby from Gore also spent a week at Karitane and have returned home greatly improved in health. The statistics are as follows’:—
