FLAX INDUSTRY

LOAN FOR STABILIZATION.

(Per Unite! Press Association.) Palmerston North, May 19. Advice has been received at Palmerston North from the Hon. G. W. Forbes that, in reply to a request from the Flaxmillers’ Association to provide a subsidy of £400(1 for the establishment of a stabilization fund, the Government is willing to lend the association up to this sum to enable it to establish its own stabilization fund. Such loan to-bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent., would require to be secured by a joint and several guarantee by the millers who are members of the association, and would be repayable over such a period as is decided by the State Advances Board, through which the loan could be arranged .
