LAND SETTLEMENT

FURTHER PROPERTIES ACQUIRED.

Wellington, May 19.

The Minister of Lands, Hon. G. W, Forbes, announces the purchase of three properties for closer settlement, matting 15 subdivisions available. One area is part of the property known as Titoki, comprising 224 acres, situated near Kaitaia, owned by Spain, Brown and Co.,- Awanui North. The land is suitable for dairying and will provide three farms. It will be subdivided and thrown open for selection at the earliest moment.

The following group selections have been acquired by the Government subject to,the conditions of the Dominion Land Purchase Board being complied with: The property known as Whakata, comprising 508 acres, situated near Matakohe and owned by the estate of the late R. C. Smith. The land is suitable for dairying and will provide six subdivisions. The area has been acquired on behalf of a group of settlers under Part 11 of the Land Laws Amendment. Act. The second group purchase comprises part of the property owned by V. H. Nolan near Cambridge. The area is about 441 acres, is suitable for dairying and will provide five subdivisions. ' _
