Otaki, May 1

William Ayres, a one-time jockey and trainer, was found dead last night at his father’s residence. An inquest is being held to-day.

SLEEP WALKER’S FALL. Auckland, May 1

Walking in her sleep Doreen Brown, aged 13, stepped out of the dormitory window on the second floor of the Brett Memorial Home at Takapuna last night. The other girls heard sobbing outside and then discovered Brown with one thigh broken.

WOMAN’S SUICIDE.

Auckland, May 1

The body of Mrs Emily Elsjieth Smith, aged 52, married, was found hanging from a bedpost at her residence Grey Lynn. At the inquest a verdict of suicide was returned.
