CAR GOES OVER BANK. (Per United Press Association.) > Taumarunui, November 23. As the result of a car swerving and falling over a bank near Carlyon’s Camp, Ohura, yesterday evening, Hugh Carlyle Black, a Public Works employee, lost his life. Deceased was crushed by the car, but the other occupants, including the driver, D. P. Deere, escaped uninjured.
SERIOUS INJURIES IN MOTOR ACCIDENT. Christchurch, November 23. A motor car overturned on loose shingle on the road to O’Kain’s Bay, Banks Peninsula, yesterday. Desmond John Pidgeon, son of the owner-driver of the car, W. L, Pidgeon, received serious injuries, including a deep cut on the head and two fingers cut off. He may also lose a thumb. Onlybruises and shock were suffered by two other passengers. Mr Pidgeon had his hands cut in breaking the, windows to extricate his family. Mrs Pidgeon suffered badlyfrom shock, one of her stockings being burnt off by acid from the battery.
