FRESHFORD NOTES

(From Our Correspondent.)

At the annual meeting of the Freshford Tennis Club Mr. D. Sanson presided. Mrs. H. Collins was elected secretary. Mr. F. Hurley was elected captain of the A team to be entered for the Campbell Cup. Other officials appointed were: Delegates, Messrs. D. Sanson and F. Hurley; committee, Messrs. M. Collins, D. Sanson, J. McDonald, A. McDonald, B. Sheffelbain. Misses K. Bond, L. Barclay, G. Hurley and M. Bond.

The club has sustained a loss in the removal of Md. and Mrs. Gilmour, both of whom were great tennis enthusiasts, but has to welcome Mr. Sheffelbain who has taken Mr. Gilmour’s place in the factory. Large crowds gathered for the official opening of the courts, visitors from Wendon and Wendonside being present.
