DISCOVERED IN TIME
EXPLOSIVE IN COAL. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, July 23. The timely discovery by an employee of Sumner gasworks of a plug of explosive in a load of coal prevented a probable disaster. ’ When found it was still in paper wrapping supplied at the factory. Though _it measured five inches long it was not noticed at thejCoal yards.
