TRAM FARES
HEAVY-WEEKLY COST. , GROWING POPULARITY OF CYCLES. One of the heaviest items in the weekly budget of the average working family is that of transport. The cost of travelling to and from places of employment is uniformly high throughout the Dominion but Invercargill unlike many other cities is comparatively flat, with good roads and is thus eminently suitable for bicycles. This popular means of transport is rapidly growing in use but the greatest drawback is undoubtedly that of the high original cost. Messrs Holloway Bros., of Tay Street, have recognized to the full the truth of this fact and have performed a very praiseworthy public service in bringing the price of a high grade cycle down to a figure that will suit the pocket of the poorest worker. That this price reduction has been achieved without any sacrifice of quality is evidenced by the specifications of a shipment of cycles which Holloway’s have just landed. These are standard British Wear*well machines fitted with Eadie Coaster hub, outrigger handles, Dunlop tyres and Palmer tyres. They are to be sold at the record low price of £6 15/- each.—Advt.
