A meeting of club delegates of the Auckland Rugby Union this evening expressed strong opposition to the proposal to play all matches this year and next year under the old rules in view of the next year’s tour of the Dominion by a British team. The opinion was expressed that any departure from the amended rules sanctioned by the English Rugby Union would not be in the best interests of rugby in New Zealand. Speakers held that the new rules had brightened the game immeasurably and had been responsible for a new style of Rugby vastly superior to the old.
