COAL DISPUTE
SAFETY MEN NOT AFFECTED. (Rec. 8.35 p.m.) Sydney, May 9. Threats by the coal miners’ executive to withdraw safety men from Ihe northern mines in order to frighten the employers arc not being fulfilled. A vote on the question to-day resulted in an overwhelming majority in favour of allowing the safety men to stay at their posts for the present.—Australian Press Association.
