MISHAP IN FOG
FRENCH LINER GROUNDS.
SUCCESSFULLY REFLOATED.
London, April 18
The French liner Paris, which left Plymouth for New York, grounded on the Eddystone Rocks, but later was refloated.
The extent of the damage has not yet been ascertained.
The steamer went ashore in a dense fog. There was intense anxiety at Plymouth. Destroyers rushed to Eddystone in response to an S.O.S. This is the vessel’s second mishap within ten days.—Australian Press Association.
VESSEL REACHES PLYMOUTH.
NO EXCITEMENT ON BOARD.
(Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, April IS. The French liner Paris was on her way from Havre to Plymouth en route to New York. Tugs hastily went to the scene, but the tide was rising rapidly and the Paris was refloated and made for Plymouth under her own steam. She reached Plymouth in the middle of the afternoon, instead of 9 o'clock this morning. Passengers say that there was no excitement or panic, and the crew, displayed wonderful discipline.—Australian Press Association.
RETURNING TO HAVRE.

Paris, April 19.
The liner Paris is returning to Havre, where she is expected to-morrow, to be dry docked for an examination.—Australian Press Association.
