BLAZE IN PICTURE THEATRE. Sydney, November 13. A fire occurred among some films in the operating box at a picture theatre at Brighton le Sands following a small explosion. They burst into flames and alarmed the audi-

ence. Panic prevailed for a time, women screaming and rushing the exits which became jammed. Several women fainted, but order was quickly restored and the fire subdued. Several thousand feet of film were destroyed.—Australian Press Association.
