’ ENGLISH MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS. (Rec. 7.15 p.m.) London, November 2. The progress of the municipal elections in 300 cities and boroughs in England and Wales show many Labour gains mainly from Conservatives with a triple success in the Home Secretary’s constituency where Labour gained initial representation. Details of the gains and losses are as follows: Conservatives three gains, 23 losses: Liberals no gains, five losses; Labour 40 gains, six losses; Independents eight gains, 17 losses.— Australian Press Association.—United Service.
