News from Kabul states that Pir, a holy man, who was taken into custody for opposing the reforms introduced by King Amanullah since his return from Europe has, together with several companions, been shot by the King’s order. Pir, who had great influence in Afghanistan, had been an anti-Government and anti-reform propagandist among fanatical Mongol and Tajls tribes near the Indian border.—Australian Press Association.
